Chemistry for the Logic Stage

COST: $345 per semester
TIME: 9:00am-10:30 am, 10:45am-12:15pm, or 12:45pm-2:15pm
MAX: 15 students
GRADES: 5th–8th

DESCRIPTION:

Chemistry for the logic aged child will be a mix of exciting lab experiments along with the creation of a comprehensive lab notebook. Students will learn about each element on the Periodic Table, study chemical reactions, and explore the chemistry of the human body and food over the course of the year.  Homework will include classwork extensions to be completed in their notebooks as well as optional worksheets for additional resources. All materials will be provided by Joobilo. Lab coat required. (This course will meet California state standards for 7th & 8th graders)

 


Early Modern History

COST: $312 per semester
TIME: 9:00am-10:30am, or 10:45am-12:15pm
MAX: 15 students
GRADES: 5th–8th

DESCRIPTION:

This course will investigate Early Modern History, which includes the history of the U.S. and World from the years 1600-1850.  Students will see a chronological overview of the progression of history from the Dutch revolt in Europe to the California gold rush.  During class time, students will engage in interactive, discussion-based activities in a fun learning environment. At home, students are expected to complete a mix of fun projects and additional readings and research to complete the whole idea of what is introduced in the classroom. (This course will meet California state standards for 7th & 8th graders.)

 


Concept Math for 5th & 6th Graders

COST: $290 per semester
TIME: 12:45pm-2:15pm
MAX: 15 students
GRADES: 5th & 6th

DESCRIPTION:

Students will cover 3 different math concepts over each semester to solidify their understanding of a topic. This is not a full math curriculum for a 5th or 6th-grade student but through hands-on activities, games, interactive lessons students will find joy in learning fraction, percentage, and decimals just to name a few.

 


Pre-Algebra

COST: $350 per semester
TIME: 9:00am-10:30am, 10:45am-12:15pm
MAX: 15 students
GRADES: 7th & 8th, or any student working at this level

DESCRIPTION:

Pre-Algebra is a course designed to prepare students for entry to Algebra. Our paced plan and curriculum use a problem-based approach with concrete models. The course helps students to develop multiple strategies to solve problems and to recognize the connections between concepts. Instructional time will focus on four critical areas: (1) developing understanding of and applying proportional relationships; (2) developing understanding of operations with rational numbers and working with expressions and linear equations; (3) solving problems involving scale drawings and informal geometric constructions, and working with two- and three-dimensional shapes to solve problems involving area, surface area, and volume; and (4) drawing inferences about populations based on samples.

English Language Arts IEW & Grammar

COST: $288 per semester
TIME: 12:45pm-2:15pm
MAX: 15 students
GRADES: 5th–8th

DESCRIPTION:

This class is an intensive, comprehensive language arts class for the fifth through eighth grade level students.  The course will challenge students at all levels.  During class time, students will engage in interactive, discussion-based activities in a fun learning environment where they can learn and practice new writing skills and grammar activities each week.

 


7th & 8th Grade: Writing & Poetry

COST: $291.00 per semester
TIME: 12:45pm-2:15pm
MAX: 15 students
GRADES: 7th & 8th

DESCRIPTION:

This class will focus on writing rhetoric and poetry, including figures of speech, types of poems, analysis and memorization of poems, and ultimately, how to construct and edit a comparative essay.

 


Writing Prep for High School

COST: $291.00
TIME: 12:45pm-2:15pm
MAX: 15 students
GRADES: 7th-9th

DESCRIPTION:

This class will focus on the art of building an argument and teach students to write persuasively.

 


Elective Classes:

American Sign Language for Jr. High

COST: $295 per semester
TIME: Fridays, 12:45pm-2:15pm
MAX: 15 students
GRADES: 6th-8th

DESCRIPTION:

This is an introductory course designed to acquaint students with the methods and techniques of learning and using American Sign Language (ASL).

 


OMNI ONE Block Class

COST: $865 for the year (Private pay only. Charter funds not accepted.)
TIME: Thursdays, 9:00am-12:00pm
MAX: 15 students
GRADES: 7th-8th

DESCRIPTION:

The 7th through 8th grades are pivotal to the development of our maturing children. Taught from a Christian perspective, this challenging program is designed to engage our students during this formative time. Based primarily, but not exclusively, on portions of the Omnibus I Curriculum by Veritas Press, the Omni One Program will help our students shape their views on faith, society, and culture through the study of ancient history and literature.

This course is a 3 hour block class and includes History, Literature, Bible, Formal Logic, and Life Skill: Cornell note taking and taking ownership of school work and rescheduling.

This content heavy course will hit on diverse topics, including numerous that are controversial in nature. It is expected that participating students will have the maturity to handle Socratic discussions.

Though more rigorous than curriculum for our younger learners, the Omni One Program will continue to foster an atmosphere that is engaging, inspirational, end even fun.

 


OMNI TWO Block Class

COST: $865 for the year (Private pay only. Charter funds not accepted.)
TIME: Thursdays, 9:00am-12:00pm
MAX: 15 students
GRADES: 8th-9th

DESCRIPTION:

The 8th through 9th grades are pivotal to the development of our maturing children. This course is a 3 hour block class and includes History, Literature, Bible, Formal Logic, and Life Skill: study skills.

This content heavy course will hit on diverse topics, including numerous that are controversial in nature. It is expected that participating students will have the maturity to handle Socratic discussions on the rich topics.

Once you have selected your student’s classes please return to the home page on our website (www.Joobilo.com ) and click on “Registration” in the upper right corner of our home page. For returning families you may sign in to the Parent Portal, for new families, you will create an account. You will be asked for your credit card information but you will NOT be charged for the cost of classes, only the $ 70 registration fee per student. This holds your spot until August when we receive your PO’s or your payment plan begins. If you DO NOT enroll in classes your credit card will NOT be charged and your account will stay active for 7 days.  Please see "Payment" tab for more information on payments plans and purchase orders.
