Taught from a Christian perspective, this challenging program is designed to engage our students during this formative time. Based primarily, but not exclusively, on portions of the Omnibus II Curriculum by Veritas Press, the Omni Two Program will help our students shape their views on faith, society, and culture through the study of Medieval history and literature. This content heavy course will hit on diverse topics, including numerous that are controversial in nature. This semester we will produce a court comedy where the character Goldilocks is put on trial for the crimes she committed against the three bears: Papa Bear, Mama Bear, and Baby Bear. Watch as many beloved fictional characters take the stand and tell their version of the story. However, can these witnesses be trusted to give an unbiased retelling? Are they trustworthy themselves? This multi-ending story allows the audience to take the role of the jury and answer the ultimate question themselves; Is Goldilocks guilty or innocent? Throughout the semester the children will learn theatrical movement, projection, and improvisation to assist with their final performance. This is a semester long class. This is a high school science course designed to meet high school graduation requirements of a physical science class.
The physics curriculum includes interactions of matter and energy, rates of change, force, energy, momentum, charge and much more! Students will be challenged through experimentation to think critically about interactions at fundamental levels. Alongside student experimentation, students will learn the scientific process and how to write a report of their findings. Students in this class will develop strong critical thinking, technical writing, problem-solving and analytical skills while building the necessary foundation for success for a wide variety of math courses.
